The ISPA Measure "Improvement of Water Supply System, Sewerage and Wastewater Treatment" has started in December 2002, when the Government of Romania and the European Comission have signed the Financing Memorandum, and will be finalized in December 2010.

The Objectives of the Measure are the following:

  • Improvement of the environmental infrastructure in Piatra Neamt;
  • Connection of the entire town to the water and sewerage networks;
  • Providing an excellent water quality for all inhabitants of Piatra Neamt;
  • Protection of Bistrita river and of the underground waters;
  • Minimising the network losses;
  • Improvement of the quality of services and efficiency of C.J. APA SERV S.A. .

In total, the ISPA Measure costs 28,594,545 Euros.

  • 74% are provided by the European Commission through the Ex-ISPA Programme - 21,159,963 Euros;
  • 26% are supplied by CJ APA SERV SA  - 7,434,582 Euros.
